If you're interested in more techie posts about GIS and legal aid advocacy take a look at www.lsnc.net/equity. I post under Elektromoose. Also, I recently published an article in the Clearinghouse Review with a researcher from Ohio State. The article is about how advocates can use GIS in social justice advocacy. Take look: http://lsnc.net/equity/2009/02/25/using-gis-for-advocacy/.

Thank you for posting this. This is a wonderful presentation, and nicely done. Part of the beauty of maps is that they include the effect of time, making them 4 dimensional, which means that you can show the effect of decisions and resource allocation over time. When you factor in language, race, gender, disability as variables, you can see that over time, initial conditions prevail. That is a powerful argument if working on behalf of vulnerable populations.
